Vitamin A as an umbrella term is one of the most popular substances for skin care. Retinal must be transformed

The biologically active form of vitamin A, the one that acts on the skin, is retinoic acid. Neither retinal nor retinaldehyde are active on their own; they must first be converted into retinoic acid in the skin. In the case of retinol, it must first be converted to retinal and then to retinoic acid; in the case of retinal (retinaldehyde), only one step is needed to convert it to this biologically active form. As a result, the effect of retinaldehyde on the skin is 11 times faster than that of classic retinol.
